It's that time of year again: the time of year to do my part to educate the public about the commitment it takes to own a rabbit, and to get word out that they are NOT A CHILD'S TOY.
I have been a proud bunny parent (or bunny slave as I willingly admit) for close to six years now, and I have been doing this little campaign around Easter time for the past few years. Each year thousands of people buy ‘Easter’ bunnies for their kids without knowing the commitment involved or how to properly care for a rabbit at all. Unfortunately pet stores encourage this mindset, and as a result most of these bunnies wind up abandoned, neglected, or very often dead. Only a few are lucky enough make it to the SPCA.
Rabbits are a serious commitment and take lots of work as well as expenses. Don't buy into the misconception that bunnies are easy-to-take-care-of, cheap pets. Do your research first before you buy ANY pet. Please visit [link] and [link] for more information.
This is my 2011 installment of the campaign. I take these flyers and drive around areas in the vicinity of pet shops, schools, churches, and parks and staple them to telephone poles as well as give them to local vets to hand out. You are more than welcome to take this design and do the same.

Thank you for posting. No animal is a toy,they are a long term investment. People should not get animals if they do not research it or be willing to invest that level of time to a pet. If you want to just play with animals,go volunteer at a shelter or make friends. Animals CANNOT BE put in a closet when you are done.
